ValdoriaRepublic

The Law of the Land

Terms of Service (v1) — written in plain language, because Article V of our Constitution demands honesty.

The most important part

The Republic of Valdoria is a cultural and artistic project. It is not recognized as a sovereign state by any government. Its citizenships, titles, documents, and tokens are novelty and entertainment items only and confer no legal rights, nationality, immigration status, or financial value.

1. What you are buying

Every item sold here — citizenships, titles, certificates, passports, deeds, stamps, coins, offices, and Valdor tokens — is a novelty and entertainment product. It is a work of collaborative fiction with beautiful paperwork.

2. Prohibited uses

You may not present any Valdoria item to any government authority, airline, bank, employer, or age-verification system as genuine identification, credentials, travel documentation, or proof of nationality. We refuse and refund any order we believe is intended for such use, and we cooperate with lawful investigations.

3. The Valdor token

Valdors are closed-loop novelty vouchers: redeemable only for Valdoria citizenship and goods, non-transferable between users, non-refundable for cash, and of no monetary value. They are not an investment, security, currency, or financial instrument, and we make no representation that they will ever gain value or become tradeable. Supply is permanently capped at 500,000.

4. The territorial claim

Valdoria proclaims a claim to a one-hectare parcel designated Valdor Point, centred upon 21°59′49.4″N · 33°10′38.4″E within the region known as Bir Tawil. The claim is made under Articles IV to VIII of the Constitution of the Republic, and its status is fixed by Article VII, which may never be amended. You should understand the following before purchasing anything from us:

  • It is symbolic and aspirational. It is recognised by no state and by no international body, and has never been submitted to any. It has no standing in international law.
  • We do not occupy the parcel. No representative of Valdoria has visited it, and no physical marker, structure, or monument has been placed there. The Concord Stone exists as an inscription and a coordinate only.
  • It grants you nothing. No purchase, citizenship, title, office, honour or token conveys any ownership of, interest in, or right of entry to the parcel or any other land, nor any right of residence, transit, or presence anywhere on Earth.
  • It is not an invitation to travel. Reaching Bir Tawil requires transiting territory controlled by the Egyptian or Sudanese authorities and is genuinely hazardous. We do not organise, encourage, endorse, or assist visits, and we accept no liability should you attempt one.
  • The underlying facts are, however, real. Bir Tawil is genuinely unclaimed by both Egypt and Sudan for the boundary reasons described on our Territory page, and the coordinates, distances and weather data we publish are accurate to the tolerances stated there.
  • We assert nothing against any state. Valdoria claims no jurisdiction over any person or property, recognises the full authority of every recognised state, and intends no challenge to the sovereignty of Egypt, Sudan, or any other nation.

5. The National Domain Registry

Domain registrations are the one thing we sell that is not a novelty: they are a real, working web address, and these terms apply instead of the novelty terms above.

  • What you get. A subdomain of valdoria.net (for example yourname.valdoria.net) with DNS records pointing where you ask, for a term of one year. This is not a top-level domain, not an ICANN registration, and Valdoria is not an accredited registrar. You are not buying valdoria.net or any interest in it.
  • Review and provisioning. Every registration is reviewed by hand before it resolves, and records are provisioned manually. Allow a reasonable period. A rejected registration is refunded in full.
  • Acceptable use. You may not use a Valdoriaaddress for phishing, malware, spam, impersonation of any person or organisation, or anything unlawful in Pakistan, the United States, or your own country. You may not use it to imitate the Republic's own services or to collect credentials.
  • We may suspend or withdraw it. Because these addresses sit beneath our own domain, abuse damages every other citizen. We may suspend or revoke an address for breach of these terms, on legal demand, or where it threatens the security of the national domain — with a pro-rata refund except in cases of abuse.
  • Reserved names. Names needed to operate the Republic (www, mail, api, login, admin and similar) are permanently reserved and cannot be registered.
  • Renewal and expiry. Registrations last one year and may be renewed at the rate then published. Renewing early adds to your remaining term rather than replacing it. Expired names may be released for others to register.
  • Pricing. Citizens of Valdoria pay the reduced citizen rate, determined at the moment of purchase by whether you hold a citizenship.

6. The University of Valdoria

The University of Valdoria confers honorary and ceremonial degrees, fellowships and chairs, and issues certificates of completion for its courses. These terms apply to them.

  • What a degree is. An honorary degree, fellowship or chair is a ceremonial honour of the Republic, and a certificate of completion is a true record that you completed a course. Both are entered in the University Register and sealed upon a certificate.
  • What a degree is not. A Valdoria degree is not an accredited academic qualification. It is recognised by no ministry of education or accreditation body, grants no credits, and confers no academic or professional standing or licence. You must not present it as a real academic degree to any employer, institution, or authority.
  • Accreditation and partners. The University claims no external accreditation and no affiliation with any real institution unless a genuine, signed agreement exists, in which case that institution is named on the University page for exactly what it accredits — and nothing more.
  • Honorary titles.Any style or post-nominal granted (for example “D.Litt. (hon., Valdoria)”) is honorary and must always be used with its honorary designation. It does not entitle you to be addressed as “Doctor” in any professional or clinical setting.

7. Our tree pledge

Reforestation is the stated national mission of Valdoria. These terms describe exactly what we promise, so it is a commitment you can hold us to — and nothing more than what is true.

  • The promise. For every purchase made in Valdoria, the Republic commits to plant one tree. It is a genuine commitment, funded from our own sales.
  • We plant them ourselves. The trees are grown and planted by the Republic, in seasonal batches when planting actually works. Your purchase is not a donation to a third-party charity, and is not tax-deductible.
  • Funded is not planted. Our public record at /greening shows trees pledged by purchases and trees actually planted as separate figures. We do not count a tree as planted until it is really in the ground and recorded there with its date and place. We will never claim otherwise.
  • On our own territory. Valdor Point is hyper-arid desert; we do not claim a forest there. The parcel bears a single symbolic native tree, and the real volume is planted at viable sites elsewhere on Earth.

8. Refunds

Digital items: 14 days, provided the certificate has not been downloaded and the serial not yet publicly registered. Printed items: 30 days after delivery in original condition. Redeemed Valdors are spent and cannot be refunded.

9. Sales restrictions

We do not sell to persons in jurisdictions subject to comprehensive sanctions, or where the sale of novelty documents is prohibited. We may refuse any order at our discretion.

10. The operating company

The Republic of Valdoria is a brand and fictional universe owned and operated by its registered operating company, which is the seller of record for all purchases. All applicable taxes are paid in the very real countries the company operates from.

11. Your account & registry entry

You are responsible for your account credentials. Registry entries display the citizen name you chose and the serial number; by purchasing you consent to that public display. Gift purchases display the recipient name you provide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Valdoria a real country?

No — and we say so on every page and every document, proudly. It is a cultural and artistic project: a nation of the imagination with collectible paperwork.

Can I travel with the passport?

Absolutely not. It is a keepsake booklet, deliberately designed to be unmistakable as a novelty, and it says so on its face. Presenting it to any authority as genuine is prohibited by our terms and by real law.

Will the Valdor token make me money?

No, and please be suspicious of anyone who says otherwise. It is a novelty voucher with a fixed redemption: one token, one citizenship. It cannot be traded or cashed out.

What do I actually get for citizenship?

A unique serial number that will never be reissued, a downloadable certificate with a QR verification seal, your name in the National Registry, and standing to acquire titles, offices, and honors of the Realm.

Is the 500,000 cap real?

Yes — it is enforced in our database by the same transaction that issues each citizenship, and Article II of the Constitution forbids raising it. When they're gone, they're gone.
